Serving the Clarksville Community Since 1929

Our firm was established in 1929 by Charles V. Runyon, a Kentucky native who obtained his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1909, served in World War I as a Major in the United States Army, and practiced as a City Attorney of the City of Clarksville from 1929-1959.

Frank J. Runyon, II continued the legacy, serving in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1950-1954 and practicing as City Attorney of the City of Clarksville from 1959-1991. In addition, he served countless individuals, businesses and government entities. From 1967 to 1970, he served in the Tennessee House of Representatives. He was widely known as a gentleman, kind-hearted and dedicated to serving the Clarksville-Montgomery County judicial system.

J. Runyon & Ray Runyon

Today, we carry on the legacy. Attorneys "J." Runyon and Ray Runyon work every day to represent the interests of individuals, families, and businesses across the Clarksville area. Their ultimate goal is to provide the same level of legal representation and community involvement as their father and grandfather before them.

J. spent 12 years at the Clarksville Police Department in a variety of roles, gaining invaluable experience that he uses as a criminal defense attorney. He devotes 100% of his practice to criminal law and has been practicing in this field for 20 years.

Ray has been practicing as an attorney since 1998, where he has received numerous accolades for his hard work and excellence of service. He devotes his practice to family law, personal injury law, estate planning and administration, business law, and real estate.
